Ronnie Nightingale & The Haydocks, Holland Rocks!
Ronnie Nightingale and the Haydocks from Nijmegen, Holland, have been an item for a long time, playing all over Europe ever since 1982. The bandmembers even had musical experience before that. James Abalain, lead guitarist of the Haydocks in the early days, and Charles Heyse, the bass player, had been plucking and pickin' with Jacky & The Cheapcheckers since 1979 and singer Ronnie Nagtegaal had recorded two 45's with the Cheapcheckers female singer Jacky Abalain. Both Jacky & The Cheapcheckers and Ronnie & The Haydocks have recorded for the Belgium based rock 'n' roll label Mac Records.
During the eighties the Haydocks played a repertoire of mostly selfpenned rockabilly and rock 'n' roll songs, but in the nineties they changed their style a bit towards teddy boy rock 'n' roll. If you get a chance to see and hear these guys perform live on stage, don't miss out! You will hear some superb teddy boy stuff in the popular crazy rhythm style, the well known teddy boy rockabilly sound developed and made famous by Crazy Cavan & The Rhythm Rockers. The Haydocks play some mean Cavan covers like, among others, "Are You Still Crazy", "Takin' Care Of My Home" and "Alligator Shoes". Carl Perkins' "Put Your Cat Clothes On" sounds absolutely great with a crazy rhythm beat and the Teencats "Teddy Bop" is sure to get you on your feet. Ronnie Nightingale & The Haydocks are a must for the true rockabilly fan. Bandmembers:
