|The Hillbilly Rock 'n' Roll Show with The Hillbilly Huxters
Wild Hare Records
Wild Hare Records of Berkeley Springs, WV proudly presents the latest in its long line of authentic Rockabilly CD releases.
The Hillbilly Huxters have been tearing it up on the club scene and fans have been clamoring for a new CD resulting in this offering; “The Hillbilly Rock 'n’ Roll Show”. The title comes from a typical Huxters live stage show. After a rousing opening tune or two, Dave welcomes the audience by saying “Welcome to the Hillbilly Rock 'n' Roll Show!”. This CD is chocked full of the Huxters most popular rockin’ show tunes, which are all recorded live to analog tape with no overdubs or punch ins!
If you were to describe the music, I would say it is raw 1950's style Rockabilly, with a little 1950's style rock n’ roll thrown in. In fact to vouch for its pedigree, one of Dave’s older fans, once said “I have seen a lot of so called rockabilly bands, and they are good, but you are different, you are great. You sound just like 1957, I know, because I was there in ‘57”. No greater compliment could ever be offered.
Delivering this raw, rockin’ sound are two very talented sidemen; each a star in their own right: Mean Matt Todd on Doghouse Bass plus vocals on track #12 and Strawback Slim (Todd Hocherl) on drums. Rounding out the combo is front man Dave Moore on lead guitar and vocals. Dave is a second generation rockabilly and has appeared on well over 290 professional recordings with over 25 different acts through the years.
If you haven’t been to a Huxters show, don’t fret, you can now hear their raw rockin’ sound coming right out of your CD player. The CD is neatly packaged in a jewell case with great artwork and has 13 tracks including Dave’s self penned “Big Fairlane”, full of attitude and raw power. This song will surely be a classic.
